Just the best!
I made this in 2008 and after making 6 more different houses this is still my favourite one. It has such a lovely front to it and the bay windows are beautiful with a chair sat on the flooring and curtains with tie back nets.

Everyone comments on this house but I could never sell it, it was first and a labour of love. So much so I am going to buy a second one and make the outside in a complimentary design so they stand side by side.

Go on buy it, you won't regret it. Used for 2-5 years

My first "real" house after years of making do with cardboard boxes. I chose it because of its realistic appearance - internal doors, opening windows and a very attractive staircase etc. and it did not disappoint. I found constructing it easy, following the excellent instructions, although because I had the basic kit, I found it frustrating to wait for "paint to dry" before progressing to the next stage!
Holme Lodge lends itself to different styles of furnishing. The Edwardian Lady of the House has inherited it from Victorian parents, but is fond of Macintosh, and is in the process of "modernising!". Used for 2-5 years

I've started and I will finish!
I bought Holme Lodge together with its basement as a long term project. I am a 'first time' builder and have nearly completed the basement element. I am enjoying the whole experience and can't wait to get going with the rest of the house. The instructions are very clear and, if help is needed, it is just a phone call or email away. Everything has fitted together well -with a few minor adjustments made with sandpaper - and the glue is remarkably strong!
I look forward to a long association with Dolls House Emporium as I slowly furnish my victorian residence and find the couple who live there. Used for 1-3 months

A beautiful house with lots of character! I omitted the inner back walls of the loft to create larger rooms with more character.Had problems with the back section of the roof,but did manage to sort it out. Used for less than a month

My first House.
After failing miserably at woodwork at school i never thought i would attempt anything like this. But having reached that time of life i decided to build a Dolls House.
I chose Holme Lodge as it was a pretty looking house. I have done a number of modifications like adding a balcony acessed by double french doors over the bay window and a roof extension. And surprise surprise, i have done quite well. The instructions were clear and logical. But do not fit windows and doors until you have painted or stained them.
They forget to remind you of these things!
The only bad points for me were that the stairs did not fit, requiring me making shims to get them to fit and the large roof bay was badly cut again requiring a filler piece to fit.
Lucky for me i am an mechanical engineer!
However, overall i would rate this as an excellant kit. Although not for a first build.
I have always started at the deep end, but try something a little simpler first then have a go.
So how long have i been doing the build?

It just gets better
Having waiting over 25 yrs for a dolls house, this house just gets better every day. I did not wish to have one that is rather plain on the front and have always loved the Victorian style, this one fits the bill wonderfully. I am just about to start putting real red brick on the outside as like a previous review feel the paper does not do it justice. I have altered the basement so I can just slide this off and leave the bay window section attached to the main house, this I have cut and will match the main opening doors. The masterclasses were a great help in planning the work and I have many, many happy hours ahead in completing and finishing this. A house I would recommend that is worth all the effort. Used for 3-6 months

Excellent product, good clear instructions. Stairs a little fiddly. Holme Lodge looks fantastic fully assembled with the additional basement. Bought as a gift for my mum she loves it!! Used for 1-3 months

I bought this house about 3 and a half years ago and have slowly built and furnished it over the time. It's been fantastic to do. I did most of it myself, just had some help from hubby with the electrics and it looks fantastic. I've just one or two pieces to get to complete it and then that's it. All my friends and colleagues who have seen either the real thing or the photo diary I've kept of progress have commented on how lovely it looks. Would love to do a bigger one but I'm limited for space, so am downsizing to one of the retreats. I might also have a go at one of the smaller houses, perhaps a shop. Used for 2-5 years

hi its my first dolls house a gift from my husband and its become a joint project and as it starts to come alive l become more impressed we are doing the exterior using a buff coloured brick compound which looks very effective Used for 1-3 months

Love it
I love the style so much I have two of them. It is lovely to look for houses like this in towns and cities. I do think the paper bricks and roof tiles let it down. I tiled the roof and used stencil bricks on mine in the same colour and style of the original. This was well worth the effort. My second one is not yet built, but will be red brick.
I would recommend this house to anyone who likes Victorian style. I hope mine will become an heirloom for my Granddaughters. Used for 2-5 years

The doll house of my dreams
Unique architectural style with many well-crafted details. Every day I admire it more and more. Although it is a medium doll house it is spacious enough to fit many room settings. It is the ideal victorian house for all romantic souls! Used for 1-2 years
