Lighting a Dolls House Made Easy!

Lighting a dolls' house is safe, simple and quick. Transform your house into a twinkling home.

Add a touch of sparkle!

A 12v lighting system is easily installed during the construction of your house. Lighting Sets include everything you need to light your dolls' house. Save by buying a Lighting Set when you buy your dolls' house.

QuickStyle houses have the grooves for the wiring already in place. (If you don’t want to add lights, simply paper over the groove.) Use the socket strip method for QuickStyle houses.

Socket Strip Lighting Sets include the transformer, socket strip and the lights. You may wish to purchase Drill (2464), Drill Bit 1.5mm (5684).

Copper Tape Lighting Sets include the Copper wiring, transformer and the lights shown in the photograph of the open dolls' house. You may wish to purchase Drill (2464), Drill Bit 1.5mm (5684), Solder (5639) and Soldering Iron (5640).

Lights for additional properties, e.g. basements, The Barn, etc., usually include only the lights; there is enough wiring and transformer capacity with the house lighting set to also light the basement. You may wish to purchase the Transformer Connection Cable (7235) to easily connect your additional property to the transformer. The Soldering Iron (5640) needs a 12v transformer, which is included in the dolls' house Lighting Set. Full, illustrated instructions are provided.

Transformers The 12v transformers have a circuitbreaker, so if you exceed the recommended number of light bulbs indicated in the description of the transformer, it is designed to safely cut out. Please note that it is the individual number of bulbs in the light fitting which you need to be aware of in assessing the size of the transformer required, not the number of light fittings. The Transformer plugs directly into the usual squarepin British socket. We also have transformers for use in Europe or USA.

A Simple Guide to Lighting...

Step 1 Step 1.
Plan which lights are going into each room.

Step 2 Step 2.
Make a small hole to pass the wire from the light through the back of the house.

Copper Tape Method

You need Wiring Kit (7050), Transformer and the lights of your choice. You may wish to purchase a Drill (2464), Drill Bit 1.5mm (5684), Solder (5639) and Soldering Iron (5640). The copper tape method requires soldering, and gives a smooth, professional finish on the back of the house.

Socket Strip Method

You need Socket Strip(s) (7194), a Transformer and the lights of your choice. You may wish to purchase Drill (2464), Drill Bit 1.5mm (5684). The socket strip method requires no soldering, and gives you the freedom to decide which lights you have on or off at any time.
