The smallest Country Show you’ll see this summer!
28 June 2013
The quintessential rural show, run by volunteers, is the mainstay of the country community and surely has a place in every miniature display.
Just a short stroll from your dolls’ house street, or as a stand-alone creation on the village green, it’s your chance to bring guaranteed sunshine no matter what the weather outside!
See working dogs, animal experts and entertainment, as well as arts, crafts, gifts and food marquees.
Locals will be doing battle for the straightest carrots, the largest cauli and the dog obedience classes.
The sheep dog trials are always a hit, while the best looking pig contest is sure to generate some interest.
Under the canopy a cookery demonstration is sure to set the taste buds tingling.
While at the next stall home-made jam and cakes prove to be a popular and traditional treat.
Don’t forget the food and drink for sale – a chilled glass of locally-made wine from the beer tent will go down well along with lashings of lemonade for the youngsters.
Then fortified by the refreshments, why not encourage visitors to have a go at the wellie wanging?!
Bring the smells and sounds of the country fair to your home – and take some inspiration from our displays on these pages.
So which items did we use for our display? Here they are! Enjoy your project!!
