21 June 2013

An Essex dolls’ house club has made more than £60 to help with its running costs after raffling off a Cowboy Kids children’s house from The Dolls House Emporium.

The prize is heading off in the direction of the nephew of the winner,  Kay Howard.

Dolls' house for a boy? Of course it's OK!

9 January 2013

We’ve been taking a look at some parenting forums and a certain question came up quite a lot.

This one, from the US online magazine Mothering was typical:
So my son and I went and saw Santa. He had a great experience and had the chance to play with some of the toys that Santa had in his "workshop" (we were the only kid there).
I asked him if he had fun playing with the dollhouse at Santas. Now he seems convinced Santa is bringing it because he played with it while visiting Santa. I have no problem with his having a "girl" toy, but I don't want him to want it just because I said something. I don't want to get it for him only because I am suggesting it. He is 3 in January and agrees to most any toy suggestion at first. He really seemed to enjoy paling with it and he is very into imaginative play right now.
I started looking to see if I could find a dollhouse and they are all very pink and girly. Any experienced mom's have a suggestion of a reasonably priced house that isn't girls only?

We spotted this particular version of the discussion in a web search search for our own products – after someone replied recommending the Cowboy Kids range here at The Dolls House Emporium.

Jubilee celebrations at Rocky Ridge!

13 September 2012

We’d like to share with blog-readers these lovely photos sent in by Cyra and Mike Swain.

They show what the Suffolk couple’s two sons did with the fabulous Jubilee Street Party Sheet.

Cyra told us: “They both have the Rocky Ridge dolls’ houses with numerous 'extras' from the catalogue and some home-made things too.

“Even Father Christmas visits the Dollshouses each year!

“We turned one Rocky Ridge into a 'General Stores' as they would then be different and Lawrence, our younger son, wanted a Shop and Post Office!”

Nathaniel is 10 and Lawrence nine and the photos show what they did before their parents woke up, all with the help of a packet of Blu-Tak.

Cyra says: “We had no input at all, apart from my husband moving them (as instructed by the boys) out of their bedrooms to a larger space!”

If you’d like to send us some images of your own (or your family’s) project, please email them direct to

Give someone a hobby to last a lifetime this Christmas

10 November 2011

There aren’t many gifts you can give which can create a lifetime interest but introducing someone to the joy of dolls’ houses is definitely one of them.Read More
