Dolls’ house replica of Lauderdale House displayed in Highgate
9 September 2013
Lauderdale House, a sixteenth-century private home, received a miniature version of itself by anonymous donation two years ago.
The replica harked back to the time of its former occupant Eleanor Gwynn, the mistress of Charles II, with its décor when the creator’s family brought it to Lauderdale House.
Now, the Ham&High
tells how us the artist Helen Rapley has restored the house and it stands proudly on display in the new veterinary practice in Highgate.
‘Golden Girls’ dolls' house replica sold on Etsy
23 August 2013
The Miami home of Rose, Dorothy, Sophia and Blanche which appeared for seven seasons on the much-loved 80s sitcom has been immortalised in a miniature of extensive detail made by Etsy seller Everyday Miniatures.
The replica makes the most of the original set's distinctive wallpaper and loud furniture, even including a few hallmarks from the show itself, like the girls' famous cheesecake.
The miniature sold rapidly for its listed price of $179, while its creator has since got to work on further such replicas following the success of the 1:72 scale ‘Golden Girls’ home.
