Blogs of Inspiration

6 October 2014

There are lots and lots of Miniatures and Dolls' House Blogs around, covering the full range of dolls' houses, periods, fantasies and styles. We often come across some weird and wacky ones, some that we can't always share and we're sure there are many more that we have yet to stumble on.

Here's some of the recent finds -

Tara's work includes a stunning selection of Tim Burton and Harry Potter inspired pieces and is perfect for Halloween! Lots of great inspiration if you're struggling and if you're short on time, she has an Etsy shop too!

Casey covers a wealth of miniature projects and crafting ideas. Her workroom and supplies are a dedication to craft rooms everywhere, it makes mine seem puny in comparison.

And then there is the AIM blog -

Artisan's in Miniature feature some of the highest quality of miniature work and the great news is it's all for sale!

Please let us know your favourite blogs in the comments below, we love keeping track of the miniature world through these inspirational works.

Warm hearts and Wet Noses - Pets in Miniature!

16 September 2014

Yesterday we focussed on the dolls you can add to your dolls' house to help bring the story to life. What about adding some additional warmth with a pet or two? Waggy tails, purring moggies and even a feathered friend or two can bring a 'still' room scene to life.

There's always a 'Crazy-Cat-Lady' and you could create your very own from our range of moggies! Poppy is primed to scratch her play post (or the table leg!), Smokey has just snuck in from an adventure in the under growth and Misty is toying with a little mouse.

If you prefer those waggy tails, then there is just as many to select from, will you go with the 'doggie in the window'? Jess the Collie is ready to stand guard and warn you when the postie arrives and Lila the Lhasa Apso isn't keen on a walk in the rain and would prefer to snuggle by the fire. Scooby is ready for a walk, is it time yet? There's dog leads, beds and much more for your furry friends.

If you'd like something a little more exotic there's the piggies, Sally the Saddleback, Harriet the guinea pig and even Terry and Jerry tortoise it you prefer the pace a little slower. Whatever your preference, you're sure to find a great animal to add to your miniature home!
