The miniature work of Dennis Jenvey
27 May 2013
Have you ever come across the exquisite work of Dennis Jenvey?
He’s a midlands maker of hand-made miniature furniture, who alongside his late wife Danie, worked out of their Nottingham workshop.
Despite retiring 15 years ago his individual items – each signed and dated at the bottom – his work is still a joy to see and remains inside many collectors’ mini homes.
Martha McLean, on her blog
Exquisite Miniatures, says: “My friend started collecting his furniture years ago as the pieces of furniture were suitable for her Georgian dollhouse. Dennis made some lovely pieces of furniture.”

And Dolls House Emporium founder Jackie Lee added: “I had the pleasure of taking lunch with Dennis Jenvey last week. Dennis and his late wife, Danie, made their wonderful miniatures in their workshop at their home in Nottingham, until they retired around 15 years ago.
“Dennis is now 90 and has a wicked sense of humour and is tremendous fun. I have a photograph taken last week of Dennis with one of his beautiful desks.”
And Karon, of
dollshousediaries, said: “His furniture is exquisite and like all great makers he always signed and dated the bottom so you know if you come across a piece of his work.”
It’s great to know Dennis is still going strong. Do you have any of his furniture – or memories of the couple from their workshop days?
