Roland’s dolls’ house is a memorable gift
22 November 2011
People usually say thank you with words or flowers or some other gift ... but not many spend nine months building a dolls’ house. But that is exactly what a pensioner from Burnham-On-Sea has done as a way of thanking the hospice who cared for his late wife.
Built to 1:12 scale and measuring 700 x 600 mm, Roland Loader’s house is a fitting testament to his skill and his love for his wife.
“I wanted to do this in recognition of the work [Weston Hospicecare] did for Elsie,’ he told his local news website, Burnham-On-Sea.com
Roland’s creation is only the second dolls’ house he has built, the first being for his great granddaughter, and it is due to be auctioned shortly to raise funds for the hospice.
