January's Sparkling Offers!

5 January 2015

January's offers are NOW LIVE and there are some inspiring offers to get you motivated for your dolls' house collection and hobby this year.

Get busy with the revamp with savings on lighting sets. Lighting sets give you enough lights to do each room of your house and you can chose either the socket strip method or the copper wiring method. Socket strips allow you the versatility to put lights on individually by plugging them into the strip. Copper wire gives a slick finish and hard wires all the lighting in. For more information on the differences and to help  you decide you can watch a video on how to light your dolls' house here.

After you've put those lights in what about doing some interior design? Great offers on wallpapers and flooring covering can give you a new look for a super price. For as little as 50p (!) you can grab a paper to redo your living room with this stylish Leafy wallpaper or if you want to splash out, you could chose this delicate Blue Rose wallpaper at £1.31!

If those little treats don't give you enough inspiration what about dressing the front of your dolls' house with a few flowers and window boxes? Or even a weather vane? Take a look at the accessories section of the special offers to see the full range on offer this month.

Auction of rare dolls’ houses and miniature accessories

20 April 2014

An auction of more than 600 miniature lots is taking place with collectors’ items available at all prices.

The personal collection of the founder of the revered Washington Dolls’ House & Toy Museum, Flora Gill Jacobs (1918-2006) which was displayed in her own home, is going under the hammer over the next couple of days.

The museum attracted 20,000 visitors annually and hosted breathtaking displays of miniature residences.

Each was painstakingly decorated with luxury furnishings and tiny accessories.

The museum collection was sold in 2004 but collectors will have the opportunity to bid on the remaining items.

Some 25 major dolls’ houses and buildings will be sold, plus 35 to 40 fully outfitted antique kitchens, shops and room boxes.

Highlights include a charming German Toy Stall, which depicts a street stall with lockable fold-up doors which comes with nearly 70 early wares, including musical instruments, tenpins, chess boards, a boy on a hobby horse, papooses in cradleboards, fruit and other foods; plus topiary trees and a painted-wood lady shopkeeper. It is valued at up to $9,000!

Auctioneer Noel Barrett told “While there are some wonderful houses in this sale, a lot of the collection’s strength lies in the rare miniatures of the type seldom available for purchase.”

Miniature rocking chair's new use as a shoe!

8 April 2013

We've an eagle-eyed young customer who spotted one of our ornate rocking chairs in a most unusual situation!

Freya Hough, from Surrey, was watching Newsround on CBBC when this image leapt out at her:

The 11-year-old tells us: "They had a slide show about cool shoes and I saw this particular shoe and I think that the heel of the shoe is none other than your product, 2699 rocking chair, in white wire."

The fairy-tale style shoe is called Loulou and is designed by Pinelopi Loizdou, according to the caption.

Well done, Freya! Enjoy spending your prize.

Traditional dolls’ houses: enhancing a child's creativity

9 June 2008

Junior Collection HouseIf you are keen on keeping your child engrossed in a meaningful activity, you should consider one of the most popular worldwide passions - dolls’ houses.
Indeed, traditional dolls’ houses serve as the perfect means of encouraging your child's creativity. We recommend that you introduce them to this magical mini-world, full of colourful and charming characters, especially and meticulously made for those little hands and imaginative brains to hold and play. They are a replica of an actual house – ideal for children who love imitating real life domestic scenes when they play.

It is great to watch your children as they use their creativity and imagination to design every room. Let every corner of their customised doll’s house be an extension of their imagination.

Little girls will be delighted with the range of kitchen accessories on offer. Perhaps she would want to get herself a food mixer, a kettle or food from the assorted items that the Dolls House Emporium has in store. Scrumptious desserts, pies, pastries, cookies and candies, fruits, vegetables, meat and fish will fill up any little kitchen and make it a place your little girl will want to be around all the time.
