This week on the blog we’re treating you to something magical and fit for a prince and princess!
This beautiful and exquisite dolls’ house, created by silent film star Colleen Moore, cost a staggering $7 million in today’s money!
Colleen Moore loved dolls’ houses and commissioned the miniature fairytale-like castle and work began in 1928. By 1935, some 100 designers and artists had worked on the house, including Walt Disney and it boasted no less than 2,000 miniatures throughout. The smallest of them being a hand-written bible! The Fairy even had a professional architect work on the project.
It went on permanent public display in 1949 and millions of people have gazed through the tiny windows.
We’ve put together some images, giving you a visual tour of the perfectly formed miniature rooms and gardens.
We hope you enjoy!
